Subject: "A 'Hostile Mission' for Military Recruiters"

2004 08:53:20 +0000 "...he's missed his monthly target several times recently,
including a couple of months when he went without a single recruit...by the
end of May, the battalion was more than 500 soldiers short of its year-to-date
goal of 1,574... by spring, 11 recruits had BACKED OUT of their commitments,
a rate "at least double" the rate last fall..."It's the parents
holding me back," Broadwater says. When he calls, they hang up the phone,
refuse to put their children on the line, and "tell him off".
They [the recruiters] remember the surge of 'walk-ins' after Sept. 11, when the war on terrorism began. These days, hardly anybody walks through the door and into the Army. "They [the parents]try to talk their sons and daughters out of joining, and, more often now, they succeed........."

But ....."there will be no draft .......", Senator John Warner, R-VA, Chmn, Senate Armed Services Committee
"BELIEVE THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF ANYTHING SENATOR WARNER, THE LYING-THROUGH-HIS-TEETH CHAIRMAN OF THE SENATE ARMED SERVICES COMMITTEE, SAYS - AND ESPECIALLY ANYTHING HE SAYS REGARDING THE STATE OF MIND AND THE WELFARE OF OUR CAREER ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY, MEN AND WOMEN, AND THEIR FAMILIES!"
Senator Warner is the antithesis of everything we have strived to achieve over these past decades for our men and women in uniform as we struggled through the arduous transition from "The Draft" to "The All Volunteer Armed Forces" - a process in which Senator Warner was 'present and accounted for' at every step of the way from the very inception of "The All Volunteer Armed Forces", when he was the then-Secretary of the Navy under President Nixon until now where he presides - as the senior GOP Senator from 'The Old Dominion' state of Virginia - over the Senate Armed Services Committee!
Throughout the past three decades it has been Senator Warner who has consistently stood in the way of any progress we have sought to improve the REAL pay and benefits of our career military men and women.
Senator Warner in his capacity as the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee [one of the most powerful positions in the finest congress that money can buy]has done everything in his considerable powers to obstruct the ultimate triumph of the day when WE - [Career Military Retirees ]- will succeed in overturning one of the most infamous, outrageous, legislative and judicial scandals in our nation's history:
"The UNINFORMED Uniformed Services Former Spouse EXTORTION Act of 1982"
