Dear Ocean Outfall Group (OOG):

See link to LA Times article this past Friday, on how OCSD is going about converting to full secondary and interfacing with the regulatory agencies (RWQCB and EPA):

O.C. May Seek Shield Against Water Lawsuits

One of these days, the public will have to be brought into the loop, as business is now being done in closed session, where the public is excluded, such as last week's OCSD Steering Committee and full Board of Directors meeting, where highly placed brass from both the EPA and RWQCB attended both meetings, but out of view of the public. OCSD Director and Huntington Beach Mayor Debbie Cook walked out of the Board of Director's meeting because she felt it was an illegal closed session meeting to exclude the public. Keep an eye on this saga.

Meanwhile, this next Wednesday, October 2, is OCSD's OMTS (Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services) Committee meeting and Thursday is the OCSD PDC

(Planning, Design, Construction) Committee meeting. Notable this time is the change in place: Plant No. 2, 22212 Brookhurst Street, HB, from 5-7 PM, for the OMTS Committee meeting. This committee is where you will find the very latest events shaping the OCSD policies and practices, and is most valuable to attend. It's only from 5-7 PM. The Agenda is attached as a .pdf file. The Agenda for the PDC Committee meeting is not available on the web yet.

Hope to see you there.
