Dear OOG:
There
will be a tour of the microfiltration demonstration process
at OCSD's Plant 2 on Wednesday, October 2, 5 PM to start
the OMTS (Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services)
Committee meeting. The Committee members and the attending
public will leave promptly at 5 PM from in front of the
Operations Center at Plant 2, 22212 Brookhurst, Huntington
Beach. Plant 2 is close to the coast, on Brookhurst between
Coast Highway and Hamilton Ave. Wear walking shoes. Approximately
6 PM, the Committee members will be served dinner, while
the public goes hungry, and then their meeting will start,
at which several progress reports will be discussed, including
odor control measures. Or, instead of having to watch
the Directors indelicately pick at their gourmet catered
meal, the public can then go north up Coast Highway to
the Harbor Grill, Peters Landing, Huntington Harbour,
to meet the candidates endorsed by the League of Conservation
Voters from 6 to 8 PM and eat better food. However, the
cost of the food there is a $40 donation to the League,
while the OCSD directors actually get paid $170 to scarf
down their catered meal. But then again, they have toput
up with the odor.
