Hi,
The biggest, best, most valuable and vulnerable target for development is, arguably, Rancho Mission Viejo. The people trying to save this vast and last open space habitat need

ENDORSEMENTS.

That's all. Send your name, organization (if any) and email address, stating that you support efforts to save virgin lands.

That's Brenda Stouffer, with the http://www.OCHeartandSoul.org Heart and Soul Coalition.

WILL HOLD a public workshop on destruction of endangered species at RanchoMissionViejo:

October 30, 2002, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
San Juan Capistrano Community Center
25925 Camino del Avion, San Juan Capistrano, California.

They are "...continuing ... a range of alternatives that should be considered for the Natural Community Conservation Planning/Habitat Conservation Plan..."

If you don't know double-talk, NCCP is the State plan to get around the Endangered Species Act, and HCP is the federal plan to get around it and NEPA.

That's right, they are legally looking for ways to "take" Endangered Species -- kill them -- via an "Incidental Take Permit". To continue:

"...and Special Area Management Plan/Master Streambed Alteration Agreement programs..."

This is the way they get around the Clean Water Act's requirement to leave the waterways of the USA alone.

"...The...programs are two elements of a coordinated public planning process...that also includes the proposed General Plan/Zone Change for Rancho Mission Viejo..."

That is, they are planning to put HOUSING TRACTS via REZONING unless you OBJECT VOCALLY.

"The October workshop will provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions [object] ... and discuss issues of interest related to the above topics. Information for the workshop will be available at a time closer to the date of the workshop at..."
