PICS ARE GOING UP ON http://Putiidhem.org

Hi,
Wonderful march on oct. 25 at Putiidhem, first of many actions to save this beautiful and historic village site.

Dozens of people, most with signs, attracted a LOT of reaction from passerby -- overwhelmingly FAVORABLE.

San Juan Capistrano folks know about heritage, they just have not had this issue thrust before them -- until now

GREAT speeches by many, including Rhonda and Rebecca Robles, Robert Leon, singing of the ancestor song by Julian Goulet after another great speech, beautiful remarks by Damien Shilo and others.

THE ISSUE:
Whether to build a HS, controlled by a private corporation not the catholic church; or a memorial center, which the Acjachemen Nation has already planned and defined.

The former, a resource for the few, run by the venal; the latter, a cultural resource for all Californians.

Up until now, Capistrano Mission has told the story from 1790, but SJC has ignored the story of the centuries -- and millennia -- before that.

So what can be done? Lots of things, here's a partial list...1. SIGNUP on the website, you will receive email and USMail updates.

2. LETTER WRITING CAMPAIGN, as soon as the people to write to are identified by the Acjachemen, and the talking points created, a letter writing utility will be installed to DELUGE DECISION MAKERS and NEWSPAPERS with FAXES, USMAIL LETTERS, and maybe even emails.

3. ATTEND CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS! Not televised, but keep the issue alive. 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. (next meetings: NOV. 5 and NOV. 17)

4. SJC ELECTIONS! Find out who supports PUTIIDHEM, so far only Diane Bathgate and Collene Campbell. SUPPORT THEM!

5. DEFEAT GELFF, HART AND SWERDLIN! Work to get RID of them, pressure them to change their allegance from JSERRA!
"...Elections...are held on the first Tuesday in November, coinciding with state and national elections. Council seats decided alternate every two years, and the remaining two seats in the next. Each December the Council votes and appoints the Mayor for the coming year. This year there are three four-year seats available and one two-year term."

6. WHO IS JSERRA CORP, ANYWAY? Find out what their profit/nonprofit structure is, and investigate all their activities for any prior malfeasance...

...Lots more coming!! Check back on the website and get ready to WRITE LETTERS and COLLECT SIGNATURES!

You can do something for HELLMAN in Seal Beach this week. PICKETS ARE NEEDED! Especially Monday and Tuesday. We have signs, check the map on http://SealBeach.org and help the Gabrieleno/Tongva Nation save one of their sacred sites -- burial mounds on Hellman Mesa!
