Thank you everyone for your phone calls to State Senator Bowen and Assemblyman Nakano! It has definitely caught their attention. Please keep it up, and call the other politicians if you have not done so already.

PRESS CONFERENCE/DEMO:
MONDAY MAY 12, 2003
5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

YOU ARE INVITED TO A PRESS CONFERENCE AND DEMO tomorrow, Monday, May 12, 2003 at the base of the West Bluffs.

 

MONDAY 5 P.M. We will be demonstrating on Lincoln Blvd. at the foot of Bluff by Loyola. Park at the top of Lincoln Blvd. near 83rd St., walk down the west side of Lincoln Blvd. to the first road, at the base of the bluffs.

Bring SAVE ALL BALLONA signs and SAVE WEST BLUFF signs.

BACKGROUND:
"Catellus Development Corp (the landowner) is threatening to begin grading at the West Bluff, Wed. or Thurs. First they want to poison all the little critters (gophers, mice and rats) on top of the Bluff by widespread poisoning (which will also threaten the raptors and other birds, and animals in the area). This poison, which will be
combining with the oil sprayed from SOCALGAS Co.'s blowout on April 2nd, will be running down into the wetlands. This is an important water quality issue.
