of cultural values -- which the late Lillian Robles raised before the Coastal Commission at their Oceanside meeting. Seal Beach may lead the way, retaining a memorial cemetary and native plant garden of cultural value to all. Also, it would be excellent if the area of Gum Grove Park (ORA-256 through ORA-259) be planted in a way memorial of the native plant garden that Acuna and others point out -- the whole world was the garden to the Tongva. There are many groups who might be invited to help with planting and maintenance, including Friends of the National Wildlife Refuge (1000 acres of wetlands across Seal Beach Blvd. in the Naval Weapons Station), the Trees for Seal Beach group, Friends of Gum Grove Park, etc. Dear
Lillian's efforts in this regard stand in stark contrast to the odious
person who bragged about disturbing, digging up and disappearing hundreds
of ancestors ("99.9% of those disinterred in O.C."), while he
was arguing *for* putting a school on top of --------------------------------------------------------- "Democrats:
Profiles In Spinelessness "'I a little bit disagree with Chairman Roberts on that.'" "That was Sen. Jay Rockefeller, the senior Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, kinda, sorta, uh, not really taking exception ... that we've turned the corner ... in postwar Iraq. "But it could just as easily serve as the motto for the whole Democratic Party: 'Vote for us -- we kinda, sorta disagree.' The Party leaders are so timid, spineless, and lacking in confidence that to compare them to jellyfish would be an insult to invertebrates. "Call them the pusillanimous opposition...paralyzed by the fear of doing or saying something that could be turned against them ...they've rendered themselves utterly impotent when it comes to mounting any kind of challenge ... [on] tax cuts and Iraq. "Exhibit A comes from Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle who, when asked on Meet the Press why the Democrats didn't offer a bold, full-throated alternative to the Bush tax cut plan, including the repeal of the 2001 cuts and a guaranteed balanced budget, timorously explained: 'Well, we -- you got to take it one step at a time.'" "You
do -- why? Is this an AA meeting? Bush doesn't take it one step at a time.
He's comfortable leading by leaps and bounds. And he's taking us along
with him -- straight over a cliff. We're facing a trillion dollars of
new debt, incurred by a president with the worst economic record since
Herbert Hoover, and the best the leader of the opposition party can muster
is a meaningless cliche? Quick, get that man a dose of ----------------------------------------- More of this column, one of the very best analyses of why the Democrats are blowing their chances for the 2004 election (same as how they lost the 2000 election!). When you have one fanatical, unprincipled party willing to perform election fraud, intimidation and even murder as part of their "dirty trix", and the other party runs around like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off not knowing what to do, it's obvious what will happen. The repubs will manuever some losers such as Lieberman-Kerry as the ticket, and they will cut them to ribbons (even Cheney dissected the pencil-neck Lieberman, who does not know how to utter a position!). Unbeknownst to most of us, the repubs have passed a requirement that all states use touch-screen electronic voting. As any programmer will tell you, once those votes get converted to blips and dots, anything can happen! Including election fraud, of course. Here is how to get more of Arianna: ----- Contact
