Dear OOG:

Daily_Surfzone_Data.xls

Come hear the latest on the TAC: the Technical Advisory Committee, tomorrow morning, June 18, 9:30 AM, at OCSD headquarters, 10844 Ellis, Euclid and Ellis, Euclid exit of the 405 Freeway. See forwarded message below and the attached spreadsheet. Don't forget that the disinfection of the OCSD sewage might have something to do with the low counts and that the AES plant might have something to do with the high readings at 9 North.

Hi all,

Attached is OCSD's daily surfzone data update showing that the Santa Ana River stations and 3N are still showing total and fecals tracking one to one with high entero. Albeit much lower concentrations than we saw before the diversions were put in place this year. This is the typical pattern we see during the full moon period, except for the SAR-S stations which is usually high. It looks like Newport Beache's filters in the shoreline drive stormdrain don't do much to reduce bacteria, which they aren't designed to do anyway. This is still the hottest sources we find, it is just such a low flow I can't see how it would impact 3N. Maybe there is dumping going on at night and all we see is the morning residual. The SAR-N station still shows the river to be contributing to our problem.
