The Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD) is honored to be the first public wastewater agency in the nation to receive national certification of its Biosolids Environmental Management System (EMS).

 

OCSD would like to invite you to the special presentation to be held 3:30 PM, Thursday August 7, 2003 at Reclamation Plant No. 1. OCSD staff and Board of Directors members will be recognized by officials from the National Biosolids Partnership (NBP) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.


OCSD’s Biosolids EMS was independently certified by KEMA-Registered Quality Inc. to conform to the NBP’s EMS guidance. This means that our biosolids program meets all regulatory compliance obligations, utilizes good management practices, and creates meaningful opportunities for public participation. In addition, the audit team noted that OCSD’s operational controls meet or exceed the best management practices recommended in the “National Manual of Good Practice."
