Dear OOG: Here are some corrections to my last email on Buy American. Trojan Technologies is based in London, Canada, not London, England. My mistake. Also, the contract amount was reported as $15 million in another news report, not the $10 million contract I reported. However, spending to foreign firms has been $25 million for GWRS to date, and the contract to Trojan will increase foreign spending to $35 million. Recall that GWRS is being funded through our local, state, and federal taxes. I thought there are supposed to be federal controls to make sure the Buy American concept is carried out. This policy is evidently not being practiced at OCWD and OCSD. More on this later. Your input welcome.
