Dear Ocean Outfall Group (OOG), dedicated to ending the 301(h) waiver held by the Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD):

Forwarded below is the model of the plume by Scripps Institute, 1997. After downloading the attachment, recognize that this appears to be a mathematical model based on dilution characteristics. Nevertheless, note how the plume creeps up the Newport submarine canyon towards the Newport Pier. Thanks to Dr. Jack and Nancy Skinner for providing this picture. Dear Friends,

We want to thank everyone for their part in getting OCSD to agree to go to full secondary treatment. We are attaching a picture of the OCSD plume prepared by Scripps that is in a document we just received three days ago. It graphically shows what we were fighting for. Note how the plume travels up the Newport Canyon to within less than one-half mile of Newport Beach.
